Today I was so happy to see my favorite Custodian/Sexton/Member/Boy Scout Leader/Youth Worker in worship. None of us would have guessed when he left for a Boy Scout trip that he would come back a week late and with a state of the art pacemaker and defribulator combination unit.
For us at Bethany, Jim is like a institution. He always in there to help us out, to say what is on his heart, to make sure things go right; and what I have seen so strong this year has been a huge amount of spiritual growth.
God has been doing a lot of work in him, showing him what awesome ministries he does through his ministry of presence, his ministry of care and compassion, his ministry of nurturing the children and youth of Bethany and the Scouts, his ministry of connection.
I have been very proud of all who have gathered around Jim during this difficult time of uncertainty -- whether members of Bethany or Oromoo. We are all one family of faith, joined together in the name of Jesus Christ. Our brother needed our support and love. Our brother needed our prayers. And as Jim continues to discover what this means for his life in the future, may we continue to support him, love him and celebrate what God is continuing to in and through Jim.
Jim, we are glad you are home.
